Microsoft Customer Data Mobile App

Challenge
I was one of two UX designers creating the UX design for an internal customer data application that would help Microsoft sales employees manage their information. This would be the first app of its kind at Microsoft, replacing an informal collection of sites and tools used by individual employees to provide the knowledge they were looking for.
Trying to condense the large amount of information from the desktop app into a mobile format created its own set of issues, and necessitated several design iterations as I worked to create the best version of the design.
Methodology
I was responsible for the design and creation of high fidelity mock-ups that could be presented at stakeholder meetings. I created these pages using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. After the design was decided upon I created a clickable mobile prototype in Axure for user testing.
First pass designs that mirrored the desktop app’s design.
Second pass designs based off older Microsoft styles.
Final version I turned into a clickable prototype.
Clickable Axure prototype
This prototype was designed for mobile, as such its sizing and traditionally mobile interactions may be awkward on desktop. I’d recommend zooming out your browser to solve the sizing issue.
If you want to view the prototype on your phone you can download a free application called Axure Share. Once you have please contact me and I can grant permission to access the prototype.
The clickable prototype can be found here.
Result
After demoing the clickable prototype the project was given to the dev team while I moved on to other parts of the project.
Although creating such a data rich application that underwent almost weekly changes in scope and requirements was very difficult, it lead to a design that I am proud of. I worked closely with my fellow UX designer refine my ideas and make sure only the very best was brought before stakeholders. We had daily "design debates” where we would each take what the other had worked on the day before and examine/critique it.
