Challenge
I was transferred to this team to take over their prototyping needs during field testing. The previous UX designer had opted for using the tool Framer, a tool that no one on the team, including the designer, knew how to fully use. This resulted in a multitude of bugs that were contaminating the team’s data. When I assumed control the UX process was starting to fall behind and I had been handed a program I couldn’t use.
Methodology
The first thing I did was shift all prototyping work away from Framer and into Axure. To convince the rest of the team I recreated a lesson from Framer in Axure. Demonstrating my ability to create a prototype with fewer bugs in less time, the rest of the team got on board with my idea.

Result
Although the work I did on this project had less creative UX responsibilities than I’m used to, the focus on technical excellence and problem solving was very rewarding in its own right.
After taking over UX responsibilities for the team I was able to iron out all the bugs they were experiencing, produce a lesson every two days for the increased testing schedule, and use what extra time I did have to make some usability improvements to the lessons I was making.
